Kasipul & Ugunja By-Election Debate
The by-election for Kasipul is scheduled for Thursday, 27 November 2025. The seat became vacant following the death of the sitting MP, Charles Ong’ondo Were. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared 10 candidates to contest in the by-election. The constituency has about 67,513 registered voters, spread across five wards: West Kasipul, South Kasipul, Central Kasipul, East Kamagak and West Kamagak. The Ugunja by-election is also set for Thursday, 27 November 2025. The IEBC has confirmed 11 candidates for the Ugunja contest.
Given the historical dominance of ODM in these areas, the party’s performance will be closely watched.
